Act On Heat

Protecting Arizona’s Workers and Communities from Extreme Heat

ACT on Heat is a statewide campaign uplifting the voices of workers, youth, and frontline communities who are facing the daily dangers of extreme heat across Arizona. Led by EDF Action and Agave Community Threads, this campaign is about more than survival – it’s about dignity, safety, and rights. Through storytelling, community forums, and local actions, the ACT on Heat Tour is mobilizing Arizonans to demand state-level protections that guarantee water, shade, rest, and safety for all workers – from farms and construction sites to neighborhoods and street corners. We are co-creating policy demands rooted in lived experiences.

Why it matters

Arizona is on the frontlines of the climate crisis. Every summer, temperatures soar past 110 F – and it’s the workers picking our food, building our homes, and delivering our goods who suffer most. These aren’t isolated incidents – they’re preventable injustices.ACT on heat is about honoring these lives, fighting for policy change, and demanding that Arizona (and the region) take action now.Water. Share. Rest. Rights.
